SMALL GROUPS
"TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE A GOOD RETURN FOR THEIR LABOR: IF EITHER OF THEM FALLS DOWN, ONE CAN HELP THE OTHER UP. BUT PITY ANYONE WHO FALLS AND HAS NO ONE TO HELP THEM UP."
-Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
WHAT
Every week, groups of about 15-20 adults from our church gather in homes across the Hot Springs area to fellowship, pray, and discuss how to live out the teachings of Christ. Different groups meet on different days of the week, usually for one-and-a-half to two hours. Every group has leaders that help keep the group organized and focused on their goals. Each group is different in where, when, and how they meet. This is determined by the leaders and members of each group.

Small groups are a central element of being a part of the National Park Church of Christ family, and an important way we fulfill our vision and encourage one another.

Because of this, every member at NPC is placed in a small group. Members are placed based on their geographical location. This structure helps fulfill the goal of reaching out to our community.
Groups are encouraged to participate in projects within their neighborhood communities. Twice a year we meet (all groups) at the church building to encourage one another and share the good things that have been happening in our small groups. This typically happens once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
WHY
Our small groups exist to fulfill a specific purpose: to provide a more intimate environment where participants can build closer relationships, have deeper spiritual conversations, pray together, eat together, and just share life together. They also exist to provide a more practical way for our church family to embrace our community and share the good news of Christ.

Each group has the freedom to be creative in the ways that they reach out in the community. Every neighborhood and area in Hot Springs have different needs and every small group can help fulfill those needs while also growing closer to one another.
HOW TO JOIN
We’d love for you to become a part of a small group. This ministry is for NPC members only. Once you place membership, we try to place you in an existing group based on your location. We try to be very intentional about these groups and not overwhelm the groups with too many people. This helps the groups accomplish their goals more effectively and have more authentic relationships within each group.

Therefore, as we have new people join the family here at NPC, new groups will form, and new opportunities will form. Once you place membership, you may end up having to wait to join a group. We hope that everyone understands the importance of this ministry and is patient as these groups take shape.
